Chalk it Up!

Chalkboards. Useful. Informative. Sassy.

Here is a great tutorial on how to make a chalkboard from Power of Paint

This is a great collection of chalkboard ideas from Funky Junk
This chalkboard was a headboard in a former life! A little gray paint, a little chalkboard paint, add some hooks and now you have a stylish chalkboard that you can hang your coats on too!

I have several chalkboards around my house...
Remember the front porch? This is the chalkboard I have out there, I change it with the seasons.
This "chalkboard" is in my kitchen. I painted an entire wall with chalkboard paint. We use it all the time!

So, now that you have some ideas...

This is my pile of ugly frames waiting to be made into super cool chalkboards for our sale July 26 and 27!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

You all know we use chalk paint. Chalk paint is by far the best choice for re-painting furniture. It sticks to everything and has a beautiful chip-y finish. I've collected a few tips and tricks from around Pinterest for all of you DIy-ers.

Here are a few "before & afters" to show you just what a little paint can do!

Remember, if you have an ugly "before" we do custom painting for beautiful "afters"!

Happy Home

We love doing what we do! And we really enjoy seeing our pieces, that we put so much love into, in their new home! These pictures are from Caitlin and Drew. They just built their first home and purchased several of our pieces to furnish it.

This sofa table is just perfect behind well....the sofa!

What an adorable little table, just perfect for a young growing family!

How much do you love this dining room? I think it's adorable! Both of the blue pieces are by Diane! Actually, all the pieces pictured are from Diane!

Remember, we do special orders! If you have any items you need painted send us an email!

What's your bag?

I saw this adorable purse by Kate Spade:

and decided I needed it! Unfortunately, although it's totally worth it, $200 is out of my purse allowance budget! So...I decided to make one!

Then I made a few others!

These will all be available at our next sale July 26th and 27th! If you're interested in them before then, I can customize them in any color and saying, just drop me an email!

P.S. they are approximately 18X16 and have 3 pockets on the inside.

Our cul de sac always gets together for food and fireworks, always lots of fun! So, I thought I would collect a few Fourth of July ideas and share them with you.

Mason jars are very popular right now and how cute and simple are these!?
I want to be invited to this picnic!
Brilliant! Why didn't I think of this when my boys were little?!
What would a Fourth of July BBQ be without great food?!

Have fun and be safe!

The Entryway...

Decorating the entryway. Do you decorate your entryway? It's often a neglected space in the house. But, it's usually the first place a person sees when they come in your front door! An entrylway can be beautiful and welcoming, practical and useful or all of the above! Here are our entryways and a few from around pinterest to give you some ideas for your entryway.

This entryway is gorgeous! So soothing and elegant!

I love how they took a small corner and made it useful!

I'm in love with chalkboards! This entryway is so simple yet elegant too. It would be easy to change it around for holidays too!

I have a very open concept home so when you walk in my front door there is a foyer but no walls. On one side of you is the library and on the other the dining room. So, this is what I call the foyer table! Its just past the foyer at the base of the stairs. I found the table at a Goodwill on my last trip to Michigan. Yep hauled it all the way back from Michigan! It was ugly dark brown '70's! I loved it so much I couldn't sell it! It's a great place to drop keys and adds a little bit of storage.

This is right inside Diane's front door. It's a great idea to have a dresser in your entryway to store hats, mittens, etc. in.

I hope I've given you some inspiration for your entryway. Add a picture of your entryway in the comments for more inspiration for us!
